Due to class sequencing for this major, students need to begin coursework at App State in the summer in order to graduate in two years. Not beginning in the summer could delay graduation from App State up to one year.

Interdisciplinary Coursework:

See bulletin.appstate.edu for a full list of recommended courses. Up to six hours from PHL 2015, S D 2400 or PHY 1830 may be used in GEN ED: ILE - Sustainability and Global Resources. These courses may also count toward an optional minor. Students may take two environmentally themed and two businessed themed courses as electives at the community college. These classes will count towards Interdisciplinary coursework requirement.

Within the SD major, Concentration Electives and Concentration Specialization Area courses will be chosen in consultation with your SD faculty advisor.  Some 2000-level and above courses taken at other institutions may transfer to Appalachian and count as courses in the Concentration Electives and Concentration Specialization Areas within each degree program, especially for students who have taken environmental, horticultural, or related natural resources management courses at other institutions.
