Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture program is competitive and requires two separate admissions processes: first to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and second, to the David R. Ravin School of Architecture (SoA). Only applicants whose UNC Charlotte and SoA applications are complete will be evaluated. Applicants must be admitted to UNC Charlotte before they will be admitted to the SoA. The SoA admits applicants for the fall semester only. Please see instructions at https://coaa.charlotte.edu/architecture/admissions/undergraduate.
Application to the SoA includes submission of an application portfolio according to specific guidelines. Application Portfolios that do not meet those guidelines will not be evaluated. Transfer GPAs will be evaluated as part of the process; the minimum requirement is 2.5 cumulative GPA. Based on a review of completed UNC Charlotte and SoA applications, students may be selected for a virtual interview. During that 30-minute interview, students will be asked to discuss their interest in the program and work presented through a digital portfolio. Admitted and pending applicants have the opportunity to attend an Open House
during the process.
