Program Admission Notes:
NC State Undergraduate Admissions employs a holistic approach in reviewing transfer students’ applications and considers a range of accomplishments and qualifications. Recommended courses listed, and GPA recommendations, are departmental recommendations and are not minimum requirements for transfer admissions.
Recommendations:
Portfolio and essay are required and must include:
-
2-Dimensional Exploration: sketching, drawing, or painting by hand
-
3-Dimensional Exploration: Innovate thinking in 3D mediums; sculpture, pottery, etc
-
Creativity and Good Craft: Piece that shows imagination in their conception and attention to detail in their construction
All Studio Design Majors are Fall entry only. Online portfolio and creative essay with the deadline of November 1st.
The Bachelor’s of Environmental Design in Architecture requires 8 semesters of studio AFTER transfer which typically takes 4 years of enrollment at NC State, regardless of the number of transfer credits or completion of an associate degree.
