Transfer Guide for Associate in Science

2024-2025

Delivery Method: On-Campus

Program Admission Notes:

NC State Undergraduate Admissions employs a holistic approach in reviewing transfer students’ applications and considers a range of accomplishments and qualifications. Recommended courses and GPA are major critical path courses or departmental recommendations and are not minimum requirements for transfer admissions.

  • 3.0 and above GPA
  • English Composition I & II equal to NC State’s ENG 101 (ENG 111 + 112= ENG 101 and ENG 1**)
  • 8 semester hours of calculus equal to NC State’s MA 141 & 241
  • Minimum B in all Mathematics courses attempted
  • Calculus-based physics equal to NC State’s PY 205 & 206 (minimum grade B )

The NC State Department of Mathematics strongly encourages students to take Linear Algebra and Differential Equations after transfer to NC State.

Additional Information From NC State University:

The B.S. program in Applied Mathematics shares many basic features with the B.S. program in Mathematics. The primary difference is that this program includes a strong interdisciplinary concentration in a related field. The applied concentration, which must be approved by a student’s adviser, should be structured to promote specific career or educational objectives. This major may require additional semesters at NC State and students should consult an NC State transfer advisor prior to following this guide.

Please visit the program website for additional information.

Remaining Courses to be Taken at NC State are based on CAA eligibility and completion of all required and suggested courses in this transfer guide. Remaining courses, hours and time to degree may vary for each student.
