Transfer Guide for Associate in Science

2024-2025

Concentration(s): Medical Sciences
Delivery Method: On-Campus

Program Admission Notes:

NC State Undergraduate Admissions employs a holistic approach in reviewing transfer students’ applications and considers a range of accomplishments and qualifications. Recommended courses and GPA are major critical path courses or departmental recommendations and are not minimum requirements for transfer admissions.

  • 2.4 and above GPA
  • English Composition I & II equal to NC State’s ENG 101 (ENG 111 + 112= ENG 101 and ENG 1**)
  • College-level Calculus equal to NC State's MA 141
  • General Chemistry with lab equal to NC State's CH 101/102

*This major has industry-specific major and concentration requirements. All approved associate degree coursework will transfer as per the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) but will not apply to the majority of the major curricula. Please contact the Wilson College of Textiles prior to following this guide.

In order to maximize potential transfer credit, students may wish to use their associate degree coursework towards a minor, second major or to complete their associate degree through the Reverse Transfer program.

Additional Information From NC State University:

Please review all information in the Program Admission notes prior to following this guide. Graduation in this major may require 2.5-3 years at NC State after transfer.

The B.S. in Polymer and Color Chemistry is a flexible and rigorous program that provides courses in fundamental chemistry, while incorporating some unique areas of applied chemistry in polymer and color chemistry. The applied courses are heavily oriented to the chemistry and technology of polymers, including polymer synthesis, extrusion and characterization. In addition, the color chemistry component of the degree includes the synthesis and application of dyes and other compounds associated with the coloration of textiles, fibers, and other materials, as well as the science of color perception and color measurement.

The Medical Sciences Concentration is for those students who wish to pursue medical school, dental school, pharmacy or optometry. This concentration includes all courses a student will need for application to these professional programs.

Please visit the program website for additional information.

Remaining Courses to be Taken at NC State are based on CAA eligibility and completion of all required and suggested courses in this transfer guide. Remaining courses, hours and time to degree may vary for each student.
