Additional Information From Appalachian State University:

  • Students who transfer with an AA degree and wish to complete remaining BSW requirements in the minimum 2 years must complete SW 2010 - SW 3000 in their first semester.
  • Students must complete foundation level courses before beginning Professional Sequence. 
  • Overall GPA and Major GPA of 2.5 are required for admission to the Professional Sequence, as retention in the program, and graduation.
  • All Social Work majors must earn a minimum grade of "C" (2.0) in each required Social Work and cognate course. Students may repeat a Social Work course only once. Students may repeat only two Social Work courses throughout the program.
