A separate application is due for admission to the BSN program, with 53 students accepted to each cohort. The application is open once a year from December 20 - the first day of classes for the Spring Semester; you must already be admitted to App State:
-
3.0 minimum cumulative GPA is required to apply
-
3.5 - 4.0 is the GPA range for accepted students
-
A grade of "B-" or higher is required in all science coursework
-
Students are required to be a certified nursing assistant (CNA) before applying to the BSN program
Due to competitive application & admission standards, all students are encouraged to have a parallel plan should they not be offered admission to the BSN program.
2.5 cumulative and major GPA (NUR courses) required for retention in the program and graduation.
Students may be allowed to repeat one nursing course one time if they earn a grade below a C/2.0 in the course. Failure to earn a minimum C/2.0 in each nursing (NUR) course results in dismissal from the program.
