Foreign language classes are not required for this major.
There are no major-specific community college course recommendations for this major; Students will complete all major-related coursework at the university upon transferring. While at the community college, students are encouraged to select courses that align with their interests, career goals, possible minor or secondary major to meet associate degree requirements. Students can still complete the Associate in Art or Associate in Science degree prior to transferring and receive the benefits of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA).

Important Information:

Students who wish to pursue a degree from the Hayes School of Music must audition before members of the appropriate applied music faculty for acceptance into the program, in the semester prior to transfer.

Music Industry Studies, Music Therapy, and Music Education have additional audition requirements.

Individual degree plans will be developed for each student majoring in a music degree.

If students complete the AA they should expect, at minimum, 2.5 years to complete required transfer, after transfer.

Transfer student should pursue opportunities that will allow them to continue their practice, so to ensure preparedness for required audition and corresponding coursework.
Junior & Senior years vary greatly from student to student. It is recommended that students contact the School of Music PRIOR to transferring for purposes of auditioning, advising & course transfer
