To apply to ECU as a transfer student:

  • Complete, or have in progress, a minimum of 24 transferable college-level courses
  • Have a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA for all college-level coursework attempted

Transfer students may apply for admission to the School of Communication their first semester at ECU with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3. Transfer of writing courses and core skill courses in public relations and journalism from outside institutions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Transcripts from the institution of transfer, a syllabus, and writing or production samples may be requested.
