Please note: EDU 187 transfers as EDU 2000 which is a required course for admission to teacher education. Students are encouraged to speak with their community college advisor to explore if this can be completed at the community college as part of their degree.
Please note: EDU 216 will only transfer as EDU 2100 (required course) if the associate degree is completed. If students plan on transferring prior to degree completion, they should not take EDU 216.
Portfolio Review:

Students majoring in Art Education will be required to submit a portfolio for review. The portfolio review will be conducted after students have completed all three Foundation courses, ART 2222, one 2000 level studio class, and either ARH 2030 or ARH 2130.

The portfolio contents include a 300-500 word essay and a 10/15 minute interview with the Art Education faculty.

Students may petition for transfer credit for up to three additional studio art courses at the 2000-level.
To be admitted to the Reich College of Education for teacher education, a student must meet the following criteria:

Passing PRAXIS Core test or being exempted (based on SAT or ACT scores).

A current Criminal Background Check (within 6 months of your application to teacher education)

Cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher
-
30 semester hours or more

A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) must be earned in RC 1000, EDU 2000 & EDU 2100
