Admission to UNC Charlotte:

  • 24 transferable credit hours
  • 2.0 cumulative college GPA
  • Must be in good academic standing at most recently attended institution

Auditions for the Department of Music:

Admission to degree programs in the Department of Music requires an entrance audition and is contingent upon acceptance into the University. However, acceptance into the University is not required prior to your music audition. We will be holding in-person auditions for music majors and select minors throughout the year.

Additional Information From UNC Charlotte:

MUS 151 and MUS 152 are encouraged to be classical piano courses. 

Four semesters of music ensemble courses are also encouraged in the students instrument of choice. 

Some UNC Charlotte course names are changing for the Music major beginning Fall 2025; the CC course recommendations made on this Transfer Guide are accurate but students may notice the equivalencies they receive upon enrolling have different  Music course names than what this Transfer Guide displays. 

MUS 121 and MUS 122 will transfer as Musicianship I and Musicianship II
