  • Complete, or have in progress, a minimum of 24 transferable college-level courses

College Level Foreign Language Requirements:

  • Complete 12 hours of foreign language.
  • At the community college, students take levels 111-212, such as SPA 111, SPA 112, SPA 211, and SPA 212.
  • For the Classical Studies concentration, students must complete Latin or Greek as the foreign language requirement. If your community college does not offer LAT or you wish to take Greek, you will need to wait until transferring to ECU to complete this requirement. This may extend time toward degree completion.

ECU does not have a transfer credit limit.

  • A minimum of 25 percent of the credit hours required for the degree and at least 50 percent of the total hours required in the major must be completed through enrollment in East Carolina University.
