To declare a BSC major, students must be admitted into the BSC program. To be admitted, students must:
1. Pass the competency exam with a score of 90 or higher, while those scoring below 90 may be considered for admission depending on resource availability. Students are permitted to take the competency exam only once.
2. Earn a minimum grade of “C” (2.0) in BSC 1110, BSC 1210, and BSC 1310. Those who earn below a “C” may be allowed to repeat each course once.
Note: Students who transfer credit for all three courses (BSC 1110, BSC 1210, and BSC 1310) may request a departmental review of their transcripts and may be considered for a waiver of the competency exam.
Important Note: The studio courses are offered as a sequence. Studio I is offered in Fall and Spring, Studio II in Spring only, Studio III in Fall only, and Studio IV in Spring only. Students should consult with their advisor to plan their schedule according to the course sequence and semester offerings to remain on track for graduation.
