Transfer Guide for Associate in Arts

Program Admission Notes:

To apply to FSU as a transfer student:

  • Graduated from high school or obtained a GED/Adult Diploma
  • Have at least 24 transferable credits with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA

 

Students must meet the following requirements to declare Social Work as a major:

  • A student must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours with a minimum grade point average required by the program.

 

Admission Requirements for the Bachelor of Social Work:

  • Completion of the Bachelor of Social Work Application
  • Approval by the BSW Program Director.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 for admission.
  • An overall GPA of 2.5 must be maintained throughout the program.
  • A 2.75 GPA in all Social Work classes taken.
  • A minimum final grade of “C” or higher in all courses is required for graduation.
  • A final grade of “C” or higher must be earned in each course used to fulfill requirements for a minor or electives.
  • A minimum of 120 credit hours are necessary for graduation. Even if a course requirement is waived, the credit hour requirement remains
  • Two (2) Recommendation Forms to be completed by someone other than a friend or family member.
  • Signed code of ethical behavior statement and be in good academic and nonacademic standing within the university.
  • Criminal Background Check (Submitted through https://www.castlebranch.com/) (Package Code: FD22) 
  • Copy of Transcript – Unofficial (FSU students can get a copy from Student Records on Banner)
