Program Admission Notes:

To apply to FSU as a transfer student:

  • Graduated from high school or obtained a GED/Adult Diploma
  • Have at least 24 transferable credits with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA

 

Students must meet the following requirements to declare Mathematics, Secondary Education (9-12 Licensure) as a major:

  • A student must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours with a minimum grade point average required by the program.

A student wishing to declare a major in any College of Education program must demonstrate the following:

  • Completion of EDUC 211 with a grade of C or better (if applicable to program)
  • A minimum grade point average of 2.7 (3.0 preferred)
  • Completion of a Declaration of Major form (scroll down to the appropriate degree)

Additional Information From Fayetteville State University:

A student must pass prerequisite courses with a grade of C or higher before enrolling in subsequent courses.

The mathematics major must complete a departmental comprehensive examination in the senior year.

Any student enrolled in a CSC or MATH course who does not meet the prerequisites for that course will be dropped.

Students must earn a grade of C or higher in all major courses and have a minimum GPA of 2.7.
