Program Admission Notes:

To apply to FSU as a transfer student:

 

  1. Graduated from high school or obtained a GED/Adult Diploma
  2. Have at least 24 transferable credits with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA

Transfer students must meet the same standards as first-time freshmen in completing the University College Core Curriculum requirements.

Transfer students admitted to Fayetteville State University who wish to pursue a degree in Education are advised to declare their desired education major as soon as they are admitted.

The early declaration is vital for ensuring that students receive immediate and appropriate academic advice, facilitating a smooth integration into their chosen program’s specific requirements and coursework.

A student wishing to declare a major in any College of Education program must demonstrate the following:

  1. Completion of EDUC 211 with a grade of C or better (if applicable to program)
  2. A minimum grade point average of 2.7 (3.0 preferred)
  3. Completion of a Declaration of Major form (scroll down to the appropriate degree)
  4. Completion of the Praxis CASE tests (or SAT/ACT scores) required by the State of North Carolina for the admission to educator preparation programs.

Admissions as an education major does not guarantee admissions to Teacher Education.
